When Darkness Finds You

Allyce Brandt has built her life around one rule: keep moving forward and keep her daughter safe.

Between working, college classes, and raising Lily on her own, she doesn’t have time for complications, especially not the dangerously controlled, impossibly wealthy man who seems to appear everywhere she turns.

Axel Halvik is used to getting what he wants.

He owns businesses, commands loyalty, and controls a criminal empire stretching far beyond Minnesota. He has spent his life keeping people at a distance, convinced that love is just another weakness someone can use against you.

Then Allyce walks into his world.

She doesn’t care about his money. She questions everything he says. She refuses his help more often than she accepts it. And somehow, her daughter slips past defenses Axel didn’t realize he still had.

But someone else is watching Allyce too.

Flowers appear where they shouldn’t. Messages become increasingly personal. A photograph from her family’s past proves whoever is stalking her has access to things they should never have been able to find.

And the closer the threat gets, the harder it becomes for Allyce to decide which is more dangerous: the man hiding in the shadows or the one standing directly in front of her promising he’ll do anything to keep her alive.

Because Axel will protect Allyce and Lily.

Even if she hates the methods he uses to do it.
